Sometimes called the Red Abyssinian Banana, this stately beauty brings an exotic flair to any garden with its arching stems of broad maroon-red tinted leaves. Choose a sunny space with soil that is rich in organic matter and kept consistently moist. Its large leaves should be sheltered from strong winds. This Banana must be overwintered in a sunroom or greenhouse or else forced into dormancy as it is only cold hardy in Zones 10-11.
