Buffalo Grass
Bouteloua dactyloides
A popular choice for a sunny lawn area, Buffalo Grass is quite drought tolerant once established. While a little patience is required for the grass to form a dense turf, it is well worth the wait as it will require little to no watering or fertilizer. Mowing is optional as it rarely grows beyond 8". Although it's slow to green up in the spring, this grass will be greenest during the hot summer.
